Famous photographs reconstructed in Lego
Look at this Flickr page with a couple of famous photographs, that were reconstructed using Lego. The originals are also there so you can compare the result with the original version. Very cool idea :-)

Hans van der Meer
One of my friends just told me that his uncle is quite a famous Dutch photographer: Hans van der Meer. Curious as I was I took a look at his website and was quite impressed. I guess I've been sleeping, not coming across his work so far. He works with concepts in a way that I find very strong and inspiring. Some series have a really good sense of humour. Just go to his website, sit back, relax and watch the photos pass by... (Copyright photo: Hans van der Meer)

Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus
Today, I rented the movie Fur, a fairy tale about Diane Arbus. It's about the beauty and the beast. It shows how Diane Arbus was introduced (imaginary) into the world she so much loved to photograph. Although I like the movie, I had expected more of it. The story stays on the surface. I think with the life of Diane Arbus there would have been more opportunities for the director to show the audience what Diane Arbus was like. I would have loved to see some of the photographs of Arbus in the movie too... However, I think it's still worthwile watching this movie, especially because of the atmosphere that is created with the movie photography. Lovely photographic scenes to watch.
